I specialise in one one one and group fun, dynamic and creative art classes for all children and neuro diverse young children through to adolescents. The sessions are self planned and I believe that the focus should be on the art itself, the creative process rather than the end product. Through learning and growing a journey of self discovery through developing skill, technique and the love for the art itself.
During the art sessions with the use of a mixed media, little artists will learn to respond to stimuli around them. From the inspirational artists they learn about and their creative surroundings whether that be music, photographs, reading material or pictures. Through focusing on drawing and painting, their technique will improve and their creative ideas and minds will broaden over time. Art projects based on art periods to increase technique and skill will also be explored based on the child's age and capacity. Music is a big part of my sessions which i find allows the little artist to relax and creates a lightness and sense of calm and engagement. I have a range of music on hand from 'Disney', Pop to calming Classical music to create a fun and relaxed environment.
The children’s program can range from 1-1.5 hours depending on age range. The first few minutes of the session is broken into ‘free drawing’ where the artist has access to any drawing materials and freedom to draw as they please. This release is important especially for school age children which may release tension and stress in the first few moments of the class. The session is then divided into delving into looking art artists for inspiration – art history and painting. Each child receives a visual diary at the end of term with pictures and drawings of their work and creative journey they have embarked on.
During each one on one or group session i personally mentor each individual artists unique talent and style building their confidence and skill level. The sessions are playful, engaging and age appropriate to each child and level of technique
